About article:
The study points to the fact that compilation of geomorphological map can lean on one of two hypotheses. It is the hypothesis that a set of mapped forms is a sum (aggregate) or hypothesis that this set is a system (set of interacting forms). The study describes the geomorphological mapping based on hypothesis that the set of mapped forms is a sum. The author analyses in detail syntactic and semantic aspects of such mapping and concludes that the majority of geomorphological maps reflecting the territory of Slovakia were compiled on the principle of a sum. Key words: geomorphological map, geomorphological analysis, sum, syntax, semantics, classification
