The annual World Food Prize is the highest international honor recognizing Nobel-like achievements in food and agriculture
and combating hunger and malnutrition.
The Selection Committee of distinguished experts, chaired by Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Dr. Norman Borlaug, seeks nominees from a broad range of disciplines associated with food production, processing, and distribution- including such divers eareas as crop genetics ,pest management, water, soil science, biotechnology, food safety,logistics, and health and nutrition, to name a few. A copy of the Invitation to Nominate booklet, which specifies nomination criteria and guidelines, is enclosed . Nominations may be submitted
on line (www.worldfoodprize.org) or by mail to the Secretariat(The World Food Prize, 1700 Ruan Center,666 Grand Ave, Des Moines, IA 50309).
The Committee would be extremely pleased to receive the credentials of an individual or individuals you deem worthy of consideration for the prestigious World Food Prize. Nominations are invited any time between October 16, 2 006(World Food Day) and March 1.2007.
