About article:
The author discusses the geomorphological conditions in the northern part of the Stratená Highland (Slovak Paradise), and in the adjoining part of the Spiš Basin – in the Western Carpathians. In the given region – after the reconstruction of the super-Pliocene geomorphological conditions – are analysed especially the effects of the young tectonic movements which occurred in the Western Carpathians, on the limit of the Pliocene and the Pleistocene and which, in many places have lasted up to the present. He also explains the origin of the break-valley of the river Hornád in the Stratená Highland.
