The present-day problems in relation between man and environment manifests themselves very apparently also in a set of problems of the so called image of town. Since no sufficient attention has been paid to these problems in Czechoslovak geographical literature, the author on the basis of his own particular investigations has outlined a complex of issues, which are to be followed in the problems of town image within geographical research. It is supposed that at right theoretico-methodological starting points. Czechoslovak geography can contribute considerably also in this sphere in solving particular practical problems in urban development.
