The scientific institutes of the SAS are external institutions for doctoral study and work alongside 11 universities in 84 study programmes.
There is a continuing high interest among university graduates in doctoral study at the Slovak Academy of Sciences. One motivation behind this is the interesting and specific teams the SAS offers as well as the opportunity to employ elaborate methodologies in investigative research. Furthermore, students have the opportunity to engage in scientific teamwork and in international cooperative projects.
The research projects at doctoral level place an emphasis on supporting the independent creative activity of young scientists.
