Reciprocity between presence and content functions on a gestalt composition space

This paper is devoted to a qualitative and quantitative study of topological spaces, the gestalt composition spaces, built on premotif collections of musical scores, and to the modelling of the motivic analysis of music. Through shape types, gestalts, and premotives distance we obtain a motivic hierarchy of a score. By reason of the non-Hausdorff and asymmetric properties of the topologies, we consider ‘reciprocal’ functions, presence and content, quantifying the geometric information of these topological spaces. This model is completed by visualizing these non-intuitive topologies through motivic evolution trees (MET), graphical representation of an overall spectrum of a score's motivic structure.
