About article:
The aim of the contribution is to evaluate the evolution of operation of runoff processes in Slovakia from the beginnings of anthropical interventions into the landscape up to now and to characterize their geomorphic effect. Five cycles of acceleration of runoff processes encouraged by activity of man in the period from the Bronze Age up to the present times were identified and characterized. In the framework of evaluation of extent, nature of operation and geomorphic effect of runoff processes the attention was paid to runoff erosion in agricultural landscape, forested landscape and above the upper timber line, as well as to the runoff accumulation in topographical depressions in agricultural landscape. The contribution deals also with the problem of fluvial transport of eroded material and its accumulation in water reservoirs.
