The author studies the upper Pliocene up to the Quaternary movements of the Earth’s crust and the corresponding structures reflected in the existing relief. The studied areas consist in the eastern Slovakian plain and surrounding regions. From the results of the study there follows that the formation of the existing relief of the plain went on in a close dependence on very young differentiated techtonic movements. The development of this young techtonic relief in the Quaternary Period was, at the same time, influenced by strong climatic fluctuations.
