The results of intensive investigations of river terraces of the Czechoslovak Carpathians carried out after 1950, enable to disprove older and even some recent opinions that terraces have developed on them only sporadically, and even these are not complete and thus the terrace Systems of individual rivers are not recognizable, escaping comparison. Further it was claimed that direct connection between terrace systems of Carpathian rivers and Danube terraces as well as the others was missing. Our investigations have demonstrated that on the rivers of the Czechoslovak Carpathians, complete terrace systems are developed and can be followed up, and these ocn readily be compared and connected with the Danube terrace system. A concise survey of the terraces of the river Váh, the most significant stream of the Czechoslovak Carpathians, is presented in Table 1, considering individual fault and basin stretches. The comparative Table 2 shows a survey of the main Czechoslovak Carpathian streams. Finally in Table 3 parallels are drawn between the river terraces of the Czechoslovak Carpathians and the Danube terraces.
