O článku:
White fir (Ables alba Mill.) is spread in European mountain ranges in heights from 230 to 2000 metres above sea level. Its mass distribution is supposed to be since the Atlantic period. So far its only Wűrm refugium in the north of the Apenninian Peninsula has been supposed, whence it has been spread to the Alps and the West Carpathians. Through the new palynological investigations it has, however, been ascertained that it has been spread from the Apenninian refugium to the Alps and to the Hercynicum. To the West Carpathians it has come from two further refugia, which were in the mountain ranges of the so called Proto-Matra Mts in the territory of present-day northern Hungary and in the Inner arch of the East Carpathians.
