O článku:
The paper analyses the process of diminishing substantial differences between town and country in present-day urbanization, while unsubstantial differences, determined socially and geographically, are still persisting. The towns concentrate inhabitants and their activities, the country is a sparsely populated territory. The urbanization process seems to be an effective distribution of activities in settlements of both types and an improvement of living conditions of their inhabitants. Commuting to work, schools and public facilities is an important connecting link between the two types of settlements. Noteworthy is the fact that in developed countries the process of a faster increase of both activities and population has started in the country compared to towns. This, howerer, does not involve desurbanization but rather a higher degree of urbanization in the 80-ties.
