The study goes out from the conception of landscape as a hybrid, synergic, time-space system. The author, being based on the findings of behaviour of systems, of their stability, equilibrium and related properties worked out within the general theory of systems, deals with factors conditioning the stability of landscape system and presents some methods of its assignment, evaluation and measurement. Approaches to' evaluating the stability of landscape systems and ecosystems are compared by him. Concluding he incorporates the investigation of landscape system stability into the context with research of landscape potential properties, trying to prove that the stability, or also the dynamic equilibrium of landscape system is one of conditions for its long-term productivity.
