This issue of Geografický časopis brings the study of J. Činčura "Relief development of the Slovak Western Carpathians in space and time" containing a new opinion, although not satisfactorily reasoned. It is a matter of discussion opened by the above response in order to support or deny the new view. The mentioned study is special also from other points of view. The author does not quote the studies of three generations of Slovak geomorphologists, inducing an impression that his study is one of the first concerning the development of the Western Carpathians, when actually it is one of the last.
