My research topic is double stars. One component is a star similar to our Sun. The second is the relativistic component, ie a white dwarf, neutron star or black hole. Due to the strong gravitational interaction between the components, due to the hard radiation caming from the relativistic component, due to strong tidal interactions, due to the interaction of radiation with an accretion disk or shell of low density, due to extremely high pressures and temperatures, and many others phenomena, these stars can be called "natural laboratories" for studying gas dynamics under extreme conditions. Such conditions cannot be created in physical laboratories and instruments. Therefore, the study of these stars provides a lot of knowledge not only for astrophysicists, but also for physical science in general.
