Zuzana Panczová studied ethnology and history at Comenius University in Bratislava. She received her PhD. at the Institute of Ethnology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. She works as a senior research fellow at the Institute of Ethnology and Social Anthropology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, v. v. i. . She attended stays at Jagiellonian University in Krakow (Poland) and Georg-August University in Göttingen (Germany). Her research focuses on narrative folklore, especially rumours, legends, and conspiracy theories in the context of group identity and ideology. She has participated in national and international research projects and authored dozens of scientific publications. Since 2021, she has been a Vice-President for International Relations of the Slovak Academy of Sciences.
