Daniel Luther, PhD. is a senior researcher at the Institute of Ethnology and Social Anthropology of the SAS. He graduated in ethnology and folklore studies from Comenius University in Bratislava. His research interest areas include cultural heritage, rituals, folklore, visual anthropology, history and urban anthropology. He published a number of books and research papers in Slovakia and abroad, including three monographs about life in the inter-war city of Bratislava (1918-1939). He was a successful Principal Investigator (PI) in numerous domestic projects and a partner in several international projects. As a PI, he recently successfully finalised a project on socio-cultural potential of selected villages in the Slovak countryside together with universities in Banská Bystrica and Nitra. He is member of several advisory and evaluation committees on cultural heritage at the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic.
