Doc. Ing. Karol Morvay, PhD. is a university teacher and researcher. He works at the Institute of Economics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences and at the Department of Economic Policy of the University of Economics in Bratislava. His research focuses on the development of Central and Eastern European economies, their performance and structural changes, as well as economic policy in these countries. In the past, he was also an advisor to Prime Minister Iveta Radičová or a member of the Council of the Slovak Antimonopoly Office, and worked as an analyst for the civic associations M.E.S.A. 10 and the Health Policy Institute (HPI). He led an APVV project focused on research on structural changes in the Slovak economy.
