Mgr. Dana Hučková, CSc. - curriculum vitae

A senior researcher, a member of the Department of the Literary History and the head of the Department of textology and digital humanities projects at the Institute of Slovak Literature of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. In the period 2007 - 2019 the director of the Institute of the Slovak Literature SAS.
Her research focuses on history of Slovak literature at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, especially on the Slovak Modern School, literature of the holocaust, contemporary Slovak fiction, editology and textology. In her research, she pays attention to various aspects of literature and literary life from roughly 1860s until the present day. She wrote three monographs: Dušan Dušek (2002), Hľadanie moderny (Searching for the Modern School, 2009), Kontexty Slovenskej moderny (Contexts of the Slovak Modern School, 2014). She edited Ivan Krasko’s Básnické dielo (Poetry, 2005) and an anthology Slovenská moderna (Slovak Modern School, 2011). She also researches a Central European aspect of Slovak literature, especially of Slovak literature from the Lower Lands at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries (J. Čajak, P. Bella-Horal, VHV, and I. Lilge-Lysecký). She edited Ladislav Ballek’s Južná pošta. Pomocník (Southern Post. Assistant, 2007), Slovník diel slovenskej literatúry 19. storočia (Dictionary of 19th Century Slovak Literary Works, together with R. Chmel, 2009), Albín Bagin’s Krása približnosti (Beauty of Approximation, together with O. Vaneková, 2010), Sondy do slovenskej literatúry 19. storočia (Insights into the 19th Century Slovak Literature, together with P. Zajac, 2011), Krátka próza druhej polovice 19. storočia (Short Fiction of the Second Half of the 19th Century, 2012), Ján Smrek’s Básnické dielo (Poetry, 2014), Ivan Kusý’s Starý Vajanský (Old Vajanský, 2014). She also published numerous scientific articles in periodicals, monographs and volumes in Slovakia and abroad.
