I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Hydrology at the Slovak Academy of Sciences (IH SAS). I obtained a PhD in Hydraulic Sciences, specializing in hydraulic structures involving physical and numerical hydraulic modeling. My main area of expertise is rivers' hydraulic science, sediment transport, and hydraulic structures modeling. To date, I have been involved in several research projects in the river and hydraulic modeling containing tasks (laboratory studies, CFD modeling and field works). I have been co-supervising 3 master's students, with a focus on CFD modeling of scouring around bridge piers. My teaching activities also focused on structures and fluid mechanics.
Regarding my interest in rivers, which means considering the whole system of the river and everything it affects, I have always been passionate about the hydrological processes of rivers, the structure of river networks, hydrodynamics, and sediment regime. The result of such interest was my participation as a research assistant for several field campaign river projects in Iran and Slovakia (initiated by funding through the National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic). Accordingly, I have been invited to give a related lecture at the 6th International Scientific Conference Biohydrology, 6-9 Sep., 2022, Krakow, Poland with the title of Flow Resistance at Lowland and Mountainous Rivers. The contribution is a selected paper for publication in an upcoming Journal of Hydrology and Hydromechanics issue.
