Doc. JUDr. Katarína Chovancová, PhD., LL.M., Univ.Prof., MCIArb

Doc. JUDr. Katarína CHOVANCOVÁ, PhD., LL.M., Univ.Prof., MCIArb is a 1998 graduate from the Faculty of Law of the Comenius University in Bratislava (Mgr.1998, JUDr.2001, PhD.2005). She is also the graduate from the University of London, where she graduated first with the PG LLM in International Dispute Resolution (the law and policy of international courts) in 2011, the PG Diploma in International Business Law in 2022 (international economic law), continuing now with her studies for the PG Certificate in International Public Law (international environmental law, international law of natural resources) within the Queen Mary-University College London Group of the University of London. She has been working as the senior research fellow at the Institute of State and Law of the SAS since 2017, with the international dispute settlement, international investment law and international law of natural resources within the frame of international public law, being the main areas of her expertise. She works also as a full professor at the Faculty of Law of the Pan European University. She served as an arbitrator with the Permanent Arbitration Court of the SBAs and is listed as an international arbitrator in the Israeli Chamber of Arbitrators. She is the member of the CIArb (UK), the BIICL (UK), the CILS (Austria), the ASIL (US) and the CSIL (CR). She has authored several monographs, students’ textbooks and numerous studies on IDR, international economic law, international investment law and international arbitration in Slovakia, the US, the Netherlands, Hungary, Germany and Austria.
