A visit from Berkeley in SAS

On 20. February visited the Slovak Academy of Sciences Ms. Susan Gieseckeová, director of the Section of the global engagement Center for entrepreneurship at the University of Berkeley in northern California in the United states od America. At a meeting with the president of the Slovak academy of sciences prof. Pavol Šajgalík it were accompanied by a representative of the embassies of the USA in Slovakia Mr. Bradley Gardner of the politico-economic department. Susan Giesecke declared interest of the University in Berkeley to establish multiple partnerships in the field of science and research in Europe. On the ground of the Slovak academy of sciences were the main topic of the meeting possibilities of cooperation of both parties in the promotion of innovation, especially in supporting cutting-edge research, which is trying to develop academics in Slovakia despite the limited conditions.
The Sutardja, Center for Entrepreneurship is an academic center within the Department of Industrial Engineering & Operations Research (IEOR). Established in 2005, SCET's mission has been to equip engineers and scientists with the skills to innovate, productize, and commercialize technology in the global economy. SCET teaches the latest topics in entrepreneurship and innovation through educational programs, research, and strong industry participation, promoting internationally recognized methodologies such as the Lean Startup Process and the Berkeley Method of Entrepreneurial Education.(spn)
