SAS published a unique collection of studies
In 2023, the VEDA publishing house published a unique collection of studies called Translation Studies in Ukraine as an Integral Part of the European Context. It contains of 15 studies in English and German written by prominent translational personalities from Ukraine and several European countries. The authors of two of them are professors Mária Kusá and Katarína Bednárová of the Institute of World Literature SAS.
"The publication is the result of an effort to support colleagues from Ukraine, to spread knowledge about translation studies in Ukraine and to strengthen the belief that Ukraine shares European values and is - and always has been - an integral part of Europe," said Mária Kusá.
Professor Kusá was part of the editorial team, as well as one of the initiators of the conference from which the studies originated. The scientist has been conducting important collective translational research for a long time. Several institutions from Slovakia and the Institute of World Literature SAS became its integrating centre.
"Translation in all its forms can facilitate mutual understanding, which is essential if we want to hand over the planet to future generations in a habitable state," added the professor.
The collection is available in printed form as well as online.
