Presidium of SAS recommends that the SAS organisations suspend cooperation with Russian partners
The SAS agrees with the statement of Comenius University in Bratislava on the suspension of cooperation with Russian partner institutions. At the same time, it recommends to the directors of SAS institutes and centres to suspend cooperation with Russian project partners in accordance with the adopted statement. This decision was supported by all members of the Presidium of SAS in a per rollam vote on March 4, 2022.
On March 2, 2022, the leadership of Comenius University in Bratislava adopted a unanimous statement in which the university suspends cooperation with Russian partner institutions. By way of example, it cites the cooperation with the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in Dubna, where it will not send or receive any employees or students. The university will not send or receive any employees and students within the framework of the concluded agreements with Russian partner institutions.
The Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava is also suspending joint activities with Russian universities and research institutes. It does so as a sign of disagreement with the aggression of the Russian Federation against a sovereign country Ukraine. It delivered its statement on Thursday, March 3, 2022.
The Slovak Academy of Sciences does not apply the principles of collective guilt in any way but refuses to participate in and financially support research within the Russian Federation.
