About article:
The study focuses on determining the etymology of Common-Slavonic word *sъtъ ‘honeycomb’. Existing etymological explanations are discussed in detail. A new explanation is proposed, based on the hypothesis that the word continues originally onomatopoeic root *sъp- ‘to hum, to drone.’
