A comparison of floristic composition and structure of the scrubby growth with dominating Scotch broom, Sarothamnus scoparius (syn. Cytisus scoparius) are present. Similar dry heaths with numerous little shrubs, often rich in Genista and Calluna, and grasses are typical habitats in Sub- Atlantic area. Only in western part of Slovakia fragments of plant communities occur, partly on the acidic rocks, and partly on the inland sandy dunes. The discussion about origin of Scotch broom in Slovakia is added.
