About article:
The deep political and economic changes of 1989 in Slovakia were followed by those in reproductive and family behaviour of population. They found reflection above all in the fertility, natality, nuptiality, divorce, abortion levels and consequently in the level of the natural increase and reproduction rates. Comparable developmental changes are also observed at the level of districts although the pace of changes is not the same in all districts. The aim of this study is to capture differences in the reproductive and family behaviour of population in Slovakia after 1989 from both, the temporal and spatial points of view (level of districts). Apart from the analysis of spatial and temporal differences in partial processes of the reproductive and family behaviour, the intent was to offer a comprehensive assessment accompanied by delimitation of relatively complex types of regions where the behaviour was studied.
