About article:
In the enclosed kartogramm of the real population increment for the period 1869 – 1961, the emigration and depopulation areas are illustrated; the text deals with the relations between these areas and economic reasons which have caused them. The saved static material shows that the natural population increment of population in Slovakia was active during the whole investigated period, i. e. for the whole area of Slovakia and the territorial average of districts as well. The population development in Slovakia was very deformed and slowed down by emigration. The enclosed kartogramm shows that it will be necessary to make important measures for economic activation of economically undeveloped areas which had been systematically depopulated in the past.
