After the short characteristic of the traditional teaching method there are in this contribution indicated some questions of problem method of geography teaching. The most substantial sing of this teaching is creating of problem situations by the teacher and their solution by pupils. On the basis of the short problem method evaluation from the pedagogical, sociological and psycho- logical point of view the author convincingly refer to the problem method preferences in comparison with an instruction method.
