Geografická problematika obchodu na juhozápadnom Slovensku

In the contribution, the retail trade in south-western Slovakia is studied. A review is given on the marks and phenomena, which are object of geographical examination, and their characteristics in the territory studied are outlined. The author separately deals with the network of retail arrangements and retail trade turnover, with its structure and relation to the number of inhabitants in the individual communities. The article's second part defines the centres of commerce, i. e. the communities in which higher forms of trade arrangements (specialized sale rooms) are concentrated or large extent of retail business is attained, both absolutely and in relation to the number of inhabitants. In conclusion, the hierarchical categories of trade centres are determined.
