About article:
The present study is result of our endeavour to support the elucidation of karstic phenomena in the Biele Hory of Little Carpathians. The actual poor exploration of this karst territory, as compared with the other karst regions of Little Carpathians, is the cause for dealing with these problems. The author occupies himself with the geological, hydrogeological and geomorphological relations of the Biele Hory and based on their evaluation, he defines, beside the known karst of Smolenice, two further independent karst units, the Plavecký Karst and Kuchyňskoorešanský Karst. While in the Plavecký Karst, he rather makes the boundaries more precise, the Kuchyňskoorešanský Karst is a new karstic territory, not mentioned up to now in the literature. Furthermore, the author determined the typological classification of these karst areas and attempted to outline their genesis.
