The submitted study is an endeavour to depict relevant linkages between elements of the physico-geographical and socio-economico-geographical subsystems of the landscape of Šarišské Michaľany – one of major central settlements of the district Prešov. It is both echo and appeal to the needs of territorial-planning practice. It is an outline of possibilities for ge-ography to be applied in geography of small territories in evaluating both natural and socio-economic potentials for rational management of anthropogenetic activities.
