About article:
The paper discusses indicators for the presence of Pleistocene permafrost in Czechoslovakia, Permafrost existed as early as the Early Pleistocene prior to the Brunhes-Matuyama boundary. An attempt has been made to calculate its thickness at the basis of Computer technique In the Upper Pleniglacial. This thickness varied from approximately 50 m to app. 250 m and, in some places, up to 400 m (Tatra Mts.). In some summit parts of the Tatra Mts. permafrost can be assumed to exist even in the present time.
