About article:
A survey of the development and state in division of all European countries except for the USSR into physicogeographical or natural regions is presented in this paper. For that purpose not only professional works dealing with this subject were studied, but also regional geographical text- books and handbooks on individual countries as well as national and regional atlases. The author points to considerable differences as to the methodics and the state of working up this division, calling attention to the necessity of a wider international cooperation.
