About article:
The presented study investigates relation between the ground water and the landscape structure. The first step is physicogeographical analysis of the study area first of all of those landscape components, which determine ground water movement. This is followed by an analysis of the regime factors, a regime of ground waters, solving the ground water and recharge problems. Precipitation in the upper river basins of Ondava and Topľa river is the most important regime factor. The term „hydromorphy“ has been introduced. Hydromorphy is a property of the landscape structure, expressing the ability of the landscape to accept and retain the water. At the same time this property determines the impact of retained (or flowing) water upon the landscape structure. The level of hydromorphy is applicated by means of ball method on the study area. It rises from the north to the south, i.e. that the landscape structure in Southern part is more influenced by ground waters.
