About article:
The aim of the present paper is to point out some new approaches in the evaluation of the landscape for the conservation of nature in mountainous areas. The authors analyse the ecological structure of the landscape on modelling the volcanic mountains of Poľana (1458 m a.s.l.) and of the surrounding peneplain of Ore mountains in the middle part of Slovakia. The used method of complex evaluation of the landscape and its potential enables the rational protection of the mentioned area.
