In the work a modem geography of soils is given, namely of a territory with very complicated physicogeographical conditions. In the mountains the lines of vertical zonality of soils run about 800, 1400, 2000 and 2500 m above sea level. Intrazonal structure of the soil cover is characterized by soil toposequences and catenas. Many relic soils and relic soil phenomena háve been stated in the soil cover, the occurrence of which regularly geo- graphically arranged, too, but conditioned by other than recent climatic influences.
