The study deals with advertisements of tradespeople of Bratislava, published in daily press in the 1920s and 1930s. The underlying assumption of the authors is that the advertisement and advertizing in general is not only an economic phenomenon aimed at promoting products and services but it also represents a broad source of information about cultural and social aspects of the facts depicted by advertizing.
