About article:
In this essasy, I enlist elements that in my estimation characterize and distort the prevailing Slovak view of Asia. The list is not exhaustive and is based purely on my personal experience. I propose that misperception is guided by notions of Asia set forth by Orientalists of 19th century and is not Slovak-specific. However Slovak reality is virtually complete absence of institutional correction of these views.
