About article:
Persistent problems of the phytogeographical regionalisation of Slovakia (e. g., questions of setting boundaries among phytochorological units) were analysed. Deficiences of recent phytogeographical regionalisation, namely heterogeneity of some phytochorions caused by insufficient acceptance of natural physico-geographical units, were pointed out. When delimiting phytogeographic units of various ranks in terms of similarity/dissimilarity, it seems advisable to expand the current hierarchy of phytochorological units (cf. Futák 1966) by some new (sub)categories. Current regionalisation, which was created preferentially for the purposes of the Flora of Slovakia, was compared with opinions of other authors, and several suitable solutions were suggested in accordance with recent knowledge
