During two vegetation periods of the years 1997 and 1998 the research of the synanthropic vegetation in the city of Košice was carried out. Altogether 366 species of higher plants were detected; 7 of them were clasified as proanthropophyts, 215 as apophyts, 137 as anthropophyts and 101 as xenophyts
