Annotation
The development of new visual and communication technologies nowadays is increasingly influencing the performing arts. It is not only about problematizing the theatrical visual code by mixing disparate realities on stage, but it is mainly about linking the living (e.g. the actor) and the artificial (technology) in their interactions with each other and in their subsequent interactions with disparate external systems (including the audience). The use but also thematization of artificial intelligence, virtual reality and modern computer simulations in theatre is a stage of further theatrical evolution, emergence and metacreation. The thesis topic allows for interdisciplinary approaches from the perspectives of media theory, concepts of posthumanism and trashumanism, but also psychology, etc. The aim of the research will be to characterize the form and influence of this phenomenon on contemporary European and Slovak theatre based on a selected sample of works by male and female creators.
