Annotation
The aim of this doctoral thesis is to develop and optimize in vitro methods for assessing the inhalation
toxicity of selected chemical substances and pharmaceutical products. The research will focus on the use
of 3D reconstructed airway models and other advanced experimental systems that enable realistic
simulations of inhalation exposure. The study will include the validation of methods according to
international standards and their application in evaluating the potential toxic effects on the respiratory
system. The results will contribute to improving the predictive value of in vitro tests and advancing
alternative testing methods in line with the principles of the 3Rs (Replacement, Reduction, Refinement).
