Annotation
Glycosyltransferases belong to the most important enzymes; which catalyses transfer of saccharidic residue to the appropriate acceptor. This function represents one of the most important posttranslational modification of proteins. Thus affect many essential functions in live organisms. Disorders in glycosylation have direct influence on development of many serious diseases in humans (cancer, neurodegenerative, metabolic…). Glycosyltransferases are also responsible for cell wall unique structure of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, a causative agent of tuberculosis. In both cases inhibition of these enzymes should play a key role in drugs development. Aim of the topic follows up on the previous work, where effective structures of potential inhibitors, bearing partially rigid hexofuranose skeleton, have been selected.
