Colonialism in the African Sahel
Name of the supervisor
Mgr. Emanuel Beška, PhD.
Faculty of Arts, Comenius University
Today, the African Sahel is the poorest and the most unstable region in the world. The states that were established here are the result of European colonial partition of the African continent in the 19th and 20th centuries. During the period of colonialism, the region experienced a major economic and political transformation, which fundamentally influenced the development of local societies. The aim of the thesis will be, in agreement with the supervisor, to examine selected aspects of these socio-political changes and thus contribute to a better understanding of the region's problems at present.
