Methacrylates have versatile uses in various areas such as protective coatings, dental materials, materials for 3D printing. We are looking for new approaches to the preparation of these materials in order to achieve better material properties, i.e. strength, heat resistance, durability.
The aim of the thesis is to study the cross-linking of methacrylates in nanopores under defined conditions (temperature, pressure) and finally cured polymers in terms of micro-structural and dynamic properties using PALS, ATR/FTIR, NIR spectroscopy, EPR, DS, DSC and SEM. The unique combination of techniques will allow a deeper insight into the mechanism of cross-linking and reveal factors improving material properties, which are crucial for applied research.
