Polymer networks or cross-linked polymers are materials utilized in wide range of applications like hydrogels, matrixes of or sorption materials. In the current study we aim at polymer networks with specific structural and surface groups allowing sorption of analytes (drugs or other organic molecules, ions) or immobilization of functional structures (e.g. enzymes). Such materials are suitable for analytical applications. Second feature empasized in the study is covalent attaching the networks on selected surfaces. Such surfaces can be glass spheres or bubbles, electrodes or optical fibres. This surface modification should increase analytical of sorption performance. Study includes both design and synthesis and characterization of networks and its composites and basic testing of its performance in application.
