Annotation
Meiosis produces haploid gametes from diploid precursor cells. This chromosome number reduction is achieved by a single round of DNA replication followed by two successive rounds of chromosome segregation. Our laboratory has previously identified several new proteins required for meiotic chromosome segregation. A PhD project will aim to reveal the function of these novel proteins and analyze their interaction with other factors involved in meiotic and mitotic chromosome segregation.
