Annotation
Current research and development in the field of efficient building envelopes has been focused on implementing more progressive solutions. Relevant characterization and performance prediction of climate-responsive materials are current research challenges in the stage of their implementation towards contemporary building technology. The research is focused on the application of reliable theoretical models and the use of experimental techniques that represent climate adaptive mechanisms of phase change materials integrated into energy-efficient building components. The primary functionalities include thermal storage of latent energy and control of solar and light transmission parameters. The research aims to verify theoretical models that reliably interpret the experimental results for both material and building envelope components. Based on the results obtained, suitable applications of the studied approaches will be proposed in the field of building engineering.
