Annotation
The doctoral thesis will aim to study the effect of polyphenolic and indole-like substances on pancreatic beta cell lines under experimental conditions associated with elevated glucose levels, such as diabetes mellitus. Diabetic conditions will be induced by cytokines, free fatty acids (palmitate), and glucose metabolites (methylglyoxal). Subsequently, the modulatory effect of polyphenolic and indolic substances will be investigated to prevent impairment induced by the aforementioned inducers.
