Annotation
Metabolic programming is a phenomenon where dietary conditions during early development induce long-lasting effects on an organism's metabolism, extending into adulthood. Despite its significance, the mechanisms through which early developmental diet influences adult physiology and health are largely unexplored. This project seeks to unravel the genetic mechanisms underpinning metabolic programming using Drosophila melanogaster as a model. Known for its relevance in studying genetics, physiology and aging, this invertebrate offers a unique opportunity to deepen our understanding of how early dietary interventions shape long-term metabolic and health outcomes.
